Omboroko Campsite is located in the Okonjima Nature Reserve, halfway between Etosha National Park and Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek. Its 20 000ha of grassland, mountain and rivers, is a sanctuary for wildcats. Read all about Okonjima’s Leopard Research here.

Camping in the Okonjima Nature Reserve – Omboroko Campsite

The four private and partially-equipped campsites are extremely spacious and campers are invited to take a dip in the swimming pool located at the foot of the mountain. We enjoyed an easy, short hike for sunset, starting right at the back of our campsite, up to a beautifully located lookout point with breathtaking views of the plateau.

Ombokoro Campsite welcomes children of all ages to camp under the stars. The campsite and its natural surroundings alone give them plenty to keep their sense of adventure stimulated.

What you need to know:

Each of the four private, self-catering campsites consists of:

  • A fixed light and a multipurpose PowerPoint
  • Private, undercover hot-water showers, (except for Camp Chilala where you shower beneath the stars)
  • Private flush toilets
  • A covered washing-up area
  • A sundowner viewpoint
  • Two inclusive bundles of firewood per night. More firewood can be arranged with your guide at an additional cost
