Petervale Guest Farm is located near the village of Ceres and within a 140km drive from Cape Town. Its highly-rated, forest-based campsite overlooks one of the farm’s large dams and is set at the foothills of the picturesque Skurweberg Mountains. Petervale is ideal for families and friends who want to relax, explore and spend quality time in nature together.

A 1.2km 4×4 track located on the lower hills of the Skurweberg mountains will lead you to views of the Ceres Valley and its surrounds. The track is rated as a Grade 3 with a downhill rating of 4 towards the end.

Wood-fired hot tubs are available to hire at your campsite at an extra cost and for bookings of no more than 8 guests.

2. Glen Eden Guest Farm, Montagu

Glen Eden Guest Farm is situated 14 km from the quaint little town of Montagu just off of the famous Route 62. Its small campsite, ‘Little Eden Campsite’ offers 6 camping spots, each with its own shaded picnic area, table and benches, braai, fire pit and a wood-fired hot tub uniquely coloured for each site.

The farm offers plenty of trails for hikers to explore, a dam for fishing and a smaller dam with a rowing boat. Children will enjoy the donkeys, alpacas, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, ducks, turkeys, geese, peacocks and pheasants at Glen Eden’s touch farm and are invited to partake in feeding time.

Guests can opt for a 2-hour excursion to Poortjieskloof dam. Remember to pack a picnic – one of the Glen Eden staff members will have set up a picnic blanket, camping chairs and table exclusively for you.

3. Kleine Paradys, Piketberg

Kleine Paradys, situated on a farm just 13km from Piketberg, offers campsites on the banks of the Berg River. It offers a communal indoor jacuzzi, as well as a small indoor heated pool and a large outdoor heated pool.

If you’re looking for more in terms of activities, Kleine Paradys offers an extensive list of things to do – and there’s something for everyone in the family from kayaking, swimming and fishing, putt-putt and star-gazing, and the farm alone has all sorts of things to discover, from its adorable animals to the various citrus fruit you’ll find during a morning walk around the farm.

4. Noah – Farm Campsite, Wolseley

Noah Farm Campsite is an off-grid, off-road, private campsite located in the Witzenberg Mountains just outside of Wolseley. Each campsite has its own private ablution facility and kitchen area with solar-powered lighting and gas for hot water, as well as a wood-burning hot tub. Noah Farm Campsite is pet-friendly and access requires a high-ground clearance vehicle.

The farm offers guests a recently completed ‘Bush Path’ to walk along.
