Thanks to its thrilling off-road trails and scenic campsites, Boegoeberg 4×4 has long been a favourite destination for adventure seekers and camping enthusiasts. With its latest addition, Boegoeberg 4×4 now caters to even more campers, including those with off-road trailers and caravans…

ArchKlip Campsite

Boogklip Private Campsite: A New Adventure

Previously, Boegoeberg 4×4 offered two main camping options: the base camp and an off-grid campsite nestled high in the mountains along one of its exciting 4×4 trails. The mountain campsite was a haven for self-sufficient campers seeking a remote wilderness experience, but it posed challenges for those with trailers.

Recognising the growing demand from off-road trailer enthusiasts, Sybrie, the owner of Boegoeberg 4×4, decided to expand the offerings. The new trailer-friendly campsite, named Boogklip Private Campsite, officially opened to the public on 15 December 2024. This unique campsite is thoughtfully designed to accommodate off-road trailers and caravans, ensuring that more adventurers can enjoy the rugged beauty of Boegoeberg.

Our Experience at Boogklip Campsite

We recently had the chance to check out the new Boogklip Private Campsite, and it was an adventure from the start. The drive to the site was exciting, with sandy paths and striking rock formations adding a bit of thrill to the journey. The route is fun yet manageable, even when towing an off-road trailer.

A Unique Camping Experience

Boogklip Private Campsite offers a truly secluded and private camping experience. With just one stand available, it can accommodate around 10 people (depending on the size of each setup) making it ideal for no more than three families. Whether you’re an individual camper or part of a group seeking the privacy of a remote site, this campsite delivers an unparalleled off-grid experience.

Here’s what we loved about Boogklip Private Campsite:

  • No power: Perfect for those wanting to embrace the off-grid lifestyle fully. It’s a great way to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature.
  • Running water in bathrooms: The convenience of having a shower and toilet adds a touch of comfort without compromising the wilderness vibe.
  • Large braai stand: The spacious braai area makes it easy to gather around and enjoy communal meals under the stars.
  • Shelter from the elements: Although the campsite is still near completion, the stone walls provide excellent protection against wind and weather, ensuring a comfortable stay even when conditions get rough.
  • Breathtaking views: The panoramic views towards Lamberts Bay are simply stunning and make for a perfect backdrop to your camping adventure.

Why Boogklip Stands Out

  • Accessibility: Despite its remote feel, the campsite is accessible by high-clearance vehicles. Off-road caravans and trailers can be towed here with ease, making it a convenient choice for trailer campers.
  • Scenic Beauty: The surrounding nature is a haven for birdlife and offers plenty of opportunities for exploration on foot. The views are breathtaking, making every moment at the campsite a visual delight.
  • Comfort Meets Wilderness: The balance between essential facilities and the solitude of an off-grid mountain retreat is spot on. You get the best of both worlds—comfort and a genuine wilderness experience.

For those who want a break from the 4×4 adventure, the campsite is ideally located for exploring on foot. Plus, it’s just a short drive to Boegoeberg’s main area for a refreshing swim, which is particularly enjoyable in the hotter summer months.

Experiencing Boogklip Private Campsite firsthand was a highlight for us. It exceeded our expectations and is a fantastic new addition for off-road, off-grid camping enthusiasts looking for something special.
