Goes perfectly with this Poitjie Pot Butternut Coconut Curry!

Makes 1 large loaf

Make your bread dough in the afternoon and let it prove in the afternoon sun whilst walking or chilling in your hammock.
Bake in the fire before your braai and enjoy it with your dinner or breakfast with jam.

INGREDIENTS

1 packet yeast
500g flour
1 tsp honey or sugar
2 tsp salt
±300ml water

METHOD

1. Mix all the ingredients except the water in a bowl. Slowly add the water and mix by hand until it becomes a sticky dough.
2. Knead for 5 minutes until the mix becomes a dough.
3. Oil the poitjie and place the dough inside. Cover with dough with a tea towel or lappie and allow to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.
4. Heat the fire and place the poitjie pot inside. Bake until golden. Be careful not to burn the bread it does bake quickly.
5. Allow to cool and enjoy with butter and jam or with dinner!!
